pyTANSPEC: A data reduction package for TANSPEC

The TIFR-ARIES Near Infrared Spectrometer (TANSPEC) instrument provides simultaneous wavelength coverage from 0.55 to 2.5 micron, mounted on India's largest ground-based telescope, 3.6-m Devasthal Optical Telescope at Nainital, India. TANSPEC offers three modes of observations, imaging with various filters, spectroscopy in the low-resolution prism mode derived R~ 100-400 and high-resolution cross-dispersed (XD-mode) median 2750 for a slit width 0.5 arcsec. In XD-mode, ten orders are packed 2048 x pixels detector cover full regime. As XD-mode is most utilized as well consistent data reduction all reduce time, dedicated pipeline need. this paper, we present code reduction, its workflow, input/output files, showcase implementation particular dataset. This publicly available pyTANSPEC fully developed Python includes nominal human intervention only quality assurance reduced data. Two customized configuration files used guide reduction. creates log file fits given directory header, identifies correct frames (science, continuum calibration lamps) based user input, an option eyeballing accepting/removing frames, does cleaning raw science yields final calibrated spectra simultaneously.
